Laura A. Shields 
Laura A. was born on September 8th, 1857. Laura A.'s father was William Henry Harrison Shields and her mother was Mary Ellen Hudlin. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Shields and Sarah "Sally" Masterson. She had five brothers and six sisters, named David Thomas, William Taylor, John Wesley, Joseph H., George E., Mary Elizabeth, Martha Jane, Sarah Angelina, Lucy A., Julia C. and Belle Marie. She was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 24 on April 15th, 1882 in Monroe County, Indiana. She was buried in Shield's Cemetery, Polk Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana.-
