John's marriage witness to Mary was James Buckley, a likely brother.  James and Margaret Buckley also lived at Peters and between 1781-87 had 4 children.

John was born in 1757 at Wall-Hill Barn, soon after his younger brother John died (in 1756).

Two sets of baptisms for John with abode as Peters show John married twice, first to Hannah and then after Hannah died in 1794, to Mary later the same year.  He only lived three more years and died at Peters in 1797.
1773 - 1851 Mary Rhodes 78 78 In 1766, James an Mary Shcofield were living at Peters (when their daughter Ann was born) 1795 Ann Buckley Note: There is another Ann born Oct 1795, daughter of Samuel and Mary of Shaw Hall 1861 - 1884 Esther Buckley 23 23 ~1755 - 1794 Hannah Lees 39 39 1779 William Buckley 1782 Mary Buckley 1784 - 1807 Betty Buckley 23 23 There was only one Betty Buckley, daughter of John and Hannah born before 1800.  It appears she died at Banktop in 1807 (unless she wasnt born Saddleworth) 1786 Sally Buckley 29 June 1812, Sally Buckley married Thomas Dyson at St Chad's, Saddleworth. 1734 - 1807 James Buckley Snr 73 73 James Buckley Snr was probably born about 1732 and was older than his reported age of 72 when he died in 1807 at Peters (maybe 77).

Appart from Betty, all the batisms following her record the abode as Wall-Hill Barn (Delph, Saddleworth).
~1730 - 1798 Elisabeth (Betty) Cresswell 68 68 Elisabeth (with an "s") on John's baptism, and then known as Betty (for James, Hannah and others).  All born at Wall-Hill Barn. 1751 - 1803 James Buckley Jnr 51 51 5 Jun 1769  James married Margaret Platt.  This appears to be the only valid James Buckley and Margaret marriage.  The first children were born at Swifts, Saddleworth.  Then from 1781, the children were born at Peters, Pob Green Lane.

James Buckley Jnr of Peters died in 1803
~1750 - 1806 Margaret Platt 56 56 5 Jun 1769  James married Margaret Platt.  This appears to be the only valid James Buckley and Margaret marriage.

Margaret, wife of James Buckley of Peters died Jan 1806
1781 Sarah Buckley 1782 Ann Buckley 1784 Alice Buckley 1787 - 1787 Hannah Buckley 5m 5m ~1750 - >1784 William Buckley 34 34 William lived at Peters (at Pod Green).  There is only one William Buckley and Martha marriage in Yorkshire, so all children must be theirs. However, this William can be a son (as James and Betty had a son William in 1760), so possibly a nephew.

About 1780 to 1782 the family moved to Delph.  Son Samuel who was born at Peters died at Delph in 1783, and daughter Betty was born there in 1784.
~1750 Martha Bottomley 1774 - 1775 William Buckley 1 1 1779 - 1783 Samuel Buckley 4 4 1776 William Buckley 1784 Betty Buckley 1769 Mary Buckley 1772 John Buckley 1772 James Buckley 1775 Mary Buckley 1778 Betty Buckley 1769 John Buckley 1753 Hannah Buckley 1754 Joseph Buckley 1760 - 1830 William Buckley 69 69 In 1760, Abode Wall-Hill Barn when born

In 1778, 1793, or 1795 William may have married Mary Shaw, Kitty Lees or Mary Wrigley.  The earlier marriage is more likely, and William's brother John was witness.

In 1830, Abode Cabin when died, aged 69
1756 Anne Buckley Ann may have married
1776 Thomas Bottomley
1775 James Whitehead or
1775 James Lees
