Mary Brereton

Mary was born in 1823 in Overton.¹

Mary's father was Thomas Bruerton and her mother was Ann Vickers. Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Mary Ledsham. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, George, Abraham, Richard, Joshua, Sarah, Ann, Hannah and Jane. She was the eighth oldest of the ten children. She had a half-sister named Elizabeth.

- In 1841, Mary (15) was living with her older sister Sarah (35) and other siblings at Dukinfield, Cheshire.
  
  In 1851, Mary (28, sister-in-law) was living with her married sister Ann Hurst and family and other siblings at Hartshead, Ashton-under-Lyne.
