There were 10 marriages for John W Buckley in Lancashire between 1880-1890, all in the Oldham area, and four were to Marys (Stafford, Taylor, Dawson and Wood).
John W Buckley is described as "Son of Sarah", aged 5 on the 1871 census, and Sarah Buckley is 37, unmarried, and living with her sister Margaret, aged 32.
John Buckley, aged 15, was described as son (not step-son) of Abraham Bentley on the 1881 census. It could be that Abraham was the father, but then why still a Buckley!

Oct 1787, Henry Buckley of Delphslack married Betty Shaw of Denshaw at Saddleworth (See attached Banns and Marriage).
There are no marriage records between 1780 and 1810 of Henry Buckley to an Elizabeth or Eliza. There is a Rochdale marriage in 1810 to Betty Lee. Therefore it seems the baptisms for Henry and Eliza at Holbeck are the same family (But no DNA match to tree owners of these 5 Buckleys).

John Buckley of Peters (now a historic Grade II listed farmhouse building) in Pobgreen Lane, Uppermill. Only Ann and John were baptised at St Chad with abode Peters. although there are other Buckley baptisms here, including John and Hannah's 4 children (1780-1786), so possibly John was married before Mary and widowed.
John's marriage witness to Mary was James Buckley, a likely brother. James and Margaret Buckley also lived at Peters and between 1781-87 had 4 children.
John was born in 1757 at Wall-Hill Barn, soon after his younger brother John died (in 1756).
Two sets of baptisms for John with abode as Peters show John married twice, first to Hannah and then after Hannah died in 1794, to Mary later the same year. He only lived three more years and died at Peters in 1797.

William lived at Peters (at Pod Green). There is only one William Buckley and Martha marriage in Yorkshire, so all children must be theirs. However, this William can be a son (as James and Betty had a son William in 1760), so possibly a nephew.
About 1780 to 1782 the family moved to Delph. Son Samuel who was born at Peters died at Delph in 1783, and daughter Betty was born there in 1784.
