Rachel lived at Tarkingtons, and John HAMER was residing at Tarkingtons (Poor Rate Assessment Records) a farmer with property and land. Many of John HAMER's children are also born at Tarkingtons, and Rachel's Baptism confirms this.

Tarkington's, is a farm on the South side of Entwistle Reservoir and in 1802 a regular fortnightly meeting was being held there on Sunday afternoons. In 1805 it became a Methodist Sunday School.

The Will of James Mather late of Newhouse Farm, Entwistle in the county of Lancaster, Farmer who died 28 June 1878 at Newhouse Farm was proved at Manchester by Amos Mather of Astley Street, Bolton in the said county Cashier the son; William Briggs of Lower House Farm, Entwistle, Farmer; and William Entwistle of Green Alders, Edgworth in the said county, Wheelwright, the Executors.

Probably all the family were baptised at Walmsley Presbyterian, and since many records were lost 1794-1815, which would explain why there is no baptism recorded.
