Sarah was born in 1824 at DickStiles and her baptism took place on June 13th, 1824 at St. Bartholomew's (Colne).¹²

Sarah's father was Thomas Pickles and her mother was Mary Roberts. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Pickles and Mary Walsh; her maternal grandparents were James Roberts and Lucy Coulthurst. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, John, William, Robert, Edward, Dinley, Margaret, Mary, Sarah, Alice and Caroline. She was the seventh oldest of the twelve children. She died as an infant in 1824 at DickStiles.

Death Notes
- It is assumed that Sarah must have died an infant, as Sarah Amy is born two years later.
