Elsie's father was David Pendlebury and her mother was Ruth Price. Her paternal grandparents were James Pendlebury and Eliza Mather. She had six brothers and six sisters, named James, Ernest, David, Albert, Walter, Herbert, Mary, Eliza, Ruth, Ruth, Ida and Maud.

- Double Marriage: 22 Oct 1921, Elsie Pendlebury (21), a Ring Spinner of 11 Livingstone Street married Sam Heywood (22), a labourer of thed Parish of Bradshaw, son of John Heywood a finisher (dec) at St Matthew, Bolton. Her sister Ruth (who married the same day) was witness.
  
  They had a daughter Hilda in 1822.
