Joseph Mather

Joseph was born on September 5th, 1829 in Bury and his baptism took place on October 4th, 1829 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹²

Joseph's father was Robert Mather and his mother was Grace Wood. His paternal grandparents were Robert Madther and Judith (Judy) Chadwick. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named John, Edwin, Robert, Mary, Sarah, Mary, Betty, Ann, Emma, Alice and Grace. He was the oldest of the twelve children.
