Administration of the personal effects of John Mather late of 131 George Street, Bury in the County of Lancaster, Fire Beater who died 28 October 1889 at 131 George Street was granted at Manchester to Lionel Mather of 80 George Street, Mechanic the son and one of the Next of Kin.
General Notes
2 Nov 1861, John Mather (26) a cotton weaver, son of Robert Mather a fuller married Mary Tyrer (27) from Bury, daughter of William Tyrer, a Painter at Bury St Mary the Virgin.
In 1862, Lionel was baptised at Bury.
After Lionel was born, the family moved to Belfast (before the Titanic was built). Martha (b.1865), Edwin (b.1866), Grace (b.1870), Sarah (b.1873) were all born in Belfast.
They returned to Bury about 1876 and Fred (b.1877) and John (b.1880) were both born in Bury.
21 Oct 1899 John died and oldest son Lionel was his executor.
John and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on November 2nd, 1861 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury) witnessed by Mark Tyrer & S Bailey.3
