29 Sep 1852 James Eddowes (23) a porter, son of Thomas a farmer married Martha Beardow (27) at Ardwick, Manchester. They were both living at Chapel Field Road at the time of their marriage.
From 1852 to 1860, their marriage and all their children's births were registered at Chorlton, Lancashire.
In 1861, James and Martha (32 & 33) were with William Beardow (28) and Mary E (8), James H (5), Alice Ann (4) and Hannah (3).
In 1871, James and Martha (43 & 45) had Mary (18), Henry (18), James (15) and Hannah (13).
In 1873, James's first wife Martha died at Chorlton, aged 47.
In 1876, James had another daughter named Martha that died an infant in Chorlton. The mother was probably Martha Parr nee Griffiths, a widow.
30 Dec 1877 James Eddowes married Martha Parr (nee Griffiths) at Tranmere St Paul, Birkenhead. Martha already had two children, Mary J and James Parr.
In 1881, James and Martha (50 & 32) were living at 14 Meadow Lane, Rock Ferry (Lower Tranmere). With his two step daughters and Emily (3) Florence (1) and Martha (? months)

James and Martha were married in a religious ceremony on September 29th, 1852 at Manchester Cathedral.4 They had a son and four daughters, named James, Mary, Alice, Hannah and Emma. There are no more children.
