Thomas' father was Thomas Eddowes and his mother was Martha Jones. His paternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Elizabeth Jones. He had five brothers and a sister, named William, James, John, Charles, Henry and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the seven known children.
