John was born in 1737 in Bolton and his baptism took place on May 29th, 1737 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  John's father was Mordicai Crook and his mother was Alice Crompton. He had three brothers and a sister, named James, Thomas, Mordicai and Esther.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 57 in October 1794 in Turton.  He was buried on October 30th, 1794 in Turton.2 





John's family with Ann Parkinson

‌John and Ann were married in a religious ceremony on November 22nd, 1757 at St. Peter's (Bolton).3   They had five sons and five daughters, named John, Mordicai, Mordicai, John, James, Margaret, Ann, Elizabeth, Alice and Ann.  There are no more children.
