Mordicai's father was John Crook and his mother was Ann Parkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Mordicai Crook and Alice Crompton. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Mordicai, John, James, Margaret, Ann, Elizabeth, Alice and Ann.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died at 2 months old in March 1765 in Bolton.  He was buried on March 6th, 1765 in Bolton.¹
