William was born in June 1841 in Harthill and her christening took place on June 27th, 1841 in Tattenhall.1 2  William's father was John Brereton and her mother was Elizabeth Boote.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton Jnr and Mary Tomlinson; her maternal grandparents were William Boot and Ann Hares. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William, John, John, Thomas, George, Mary, Elizabeth and Ann.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  She died due to a medical problem, Water on the Brain, at the age of 6 on April 21st, 1848 in Tattenhall.  She was buried on April 26th, 1848 at St. Alban (Tattenhall).3 4
