John Brooker Malphrus

John Brooker was born on May 12th, 1846 in Ridgeland, Jasper Co., SC.¹   John Brooker's father was William Edward Malphrus and his mother was Kitsiah Woods. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Seaborn Nathaniel, Joseph Joshua, Ulysses Oliver, Rubin Jacob, Cornelius, Mary Rebecca, Sarah and Emily Jane.  He was the second oldest of the nine children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John Isaac, William T., Isham E., James Edward, William Allen, Nancy and Rachel Ann.  He died at the age of 78 on March 3rd, 1925.¹
