James Edward Malphrus

James Edward was born about 1836 in St. Lukes Parish, Beaufort Co., SC.¹   James Edward's father was William Edward Malphrus and his mother was Sarah. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John Isaac, William T., Isham E., William Allen, Nancy and Rachel Ann.  He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Seaborn Nathaniel, John Brooker, Joseph Joshua, Ulysses Oliver, Rubin Jacob, Cornelius, Mary Rebecca, Sarah and Emily Jane.¹
