Sarah Charity was born on March 16th, 1778 in Guilford, NC. Sarah Charity's father was Bowater+ Beals and her mother was Sarah Ann+ Cook. Her paternal grandparents were John II+ Beals and Sarah+ Bowater; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Cook and Mary+ Underwood. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John Bowater, Jacob+, Nathan, Ann, Ruth, Phebe and Mary. She was the youngest of the nine children.
