Mary+ was born about 1710 in Newcastle, On Delaware, PA. Mary+'s father was Alexander+ Underwood and her mother was Mary Jane+ Harris. Her paternal grandfather was Samuel+ Underwood and her paternal grandmother is Mary Ann+ Wilcocks; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Harris and Elizabeth Brinton. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, Joseph, Benjamin, John, Elihu, Elizabeth, Jane, Olive and Ruth. She was the oldest of the eleven children.
