Samuel Underwood 
Samuel was born about 1714 in Chatham Co., NC. Samuel's father was Alexander+ Underwood and his mother was Mary Jane+ Harris. His paternal grandfather was Samuel+ Underwood and his paternal grandmother is Mary Ann+ Wilcocks; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Harris and Elizabeth Brinton. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Benjamin, John, Elihu, Mary+, Elizabeth, Jane, Olive and Ruth. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died after 1774 in Orange Co., NC.General Notes
