Roger was born on May 3rd, 1287 in Netherwood, Thornbury, Herefordshire, England.  Roger's father was Baron Edmund de Mortimer and his mother was Margaret de Fiennes.  His paternal grandparents were Lord Roger de Mortimer III of Wigmore and Maud de Braose; his maternal grandparents were William de Fiennes II and Blanche de Brienne. He had two sisters named Isolde and Matilda.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 43 on November 29th, 1330 in Elms, Tyburn, Warwickshire, England.  He was buried in 1330 in Church Of Grey Friar, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.


Roger's family with Joan de Geneville

‌Roger and Joan were married in a religious ceremony before October 6th, 1306 in Shropshire, England.  They had a son and five daughters, named Edmund, Maud, Catherine, Joan, Blanche and Beatrice.
