Balaam Thompson 
Balaam was born on October 13th, 1745 in Albemarle, Surry Co., Virginia.1 Balaam's father was William Thompson and his mother was Hannah Bell. His maternal grandparents were JOHN Bell and HANNAH STOKES. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Susannah, Mary Martha, Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth Ann. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 53 in 1798 in Onslow Chatham Co., North Carolina.1 General Notes
