Hannah was born about 1729 in Sussex Co., Virginia.1 Hannah's father was JOHN Bell and her mother was HANNAH STOKES. Her paternal grandparents were JOHN Bell and ANN BENNETT. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Benjamin, Burrell, Balaam, James, MARY Kesiah, Ann and Mary. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
