George Thompson 
George was born in 1793 in Chatham Co., North Carolina.1 George's father was Balaam Thompson and his mother was Hannah McSwane. His paternal grandparents were William Thompson and Hannah Bell. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Charles, Balaam McSwane, Rebecca and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had four half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named William Pharoah, Balaam, Jeremiah, James, Eleanor, Dorcas, Hannah, Rebecca, Charlotte, Mary and Ruth. He died at the age of 80 in 1873 in IL.1 General Notes
