Ruth Thompson

Ruth was born in 1790 in Chatham Co., North Carolina.¹ Ruth's father was Balaam Thompson and her mother was Olive Melton. Her paternal grandparents were William Thompson and Hannah Bell. She had four brothers and six sisters, named William Pharoah, Balaam, Jeremiah, James, Eleanor, Dorcas, Hannah, Rebecca, Charlotte and Mary. She is the youngest of the eleven children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Charles, George, Balaam McSwane, Rebecca and Elizabeth.
