James Thompson

James was born in 1788.¹ James' father was Balaam Thompson and his mother was Olive Melton. His paternal grandparents were William Thompson and Hannah Bell. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named William Pharoah, Balaam, Jeremiah, Eleanor, Dorcas, Hannah, Rebecca, Charlotte, Mary and Ruth. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Charles, George, Balaam McSwane, Rebecca and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 30 in 1818 in Chatham Co., North Carolina.¹
