Lucy Ophelia Straley

Lucy Ophelia was born on August 2nd, 1899 in Sterling County, Texas.¹ Lucy Ophelia's father was Thomas Jefferson Straley and her mother was Lucy Allen Cope. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Leland Straley and Sarah Rebecca Clark. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Harry Artemis, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Spurgeon, George Leland, John Cope, Thurman Ernest, Sadie Allen, Alice, Myrtle Willie, Reba and Thelma Ethel. She was the sixth youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 72 on February 1st, 1972 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She was buried in Ancho Cemetery, Ancho, New Mexico.¹
