George Leland Straley

George Leland was born on March 12th, 1902 in Sterling City, Texas.¹ George Leland's father was Thomas Jefferson Straley and his mother was Lucy Allen Cope. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Leland Straley and Sarah Rebecca Clark. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Harry Artemis, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Spurgeon, John Cope, Thurman Ernest, Sadie Allen, Alice, Myrtle Willie, Lucy Ophelia, Reba and Thelma Ethel. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 81 on April 10th, 1983 in Socorro, New Mexico.¹
