Robert was born in 1090 in Caen, Calvados, France.1   Robert's father was Henry I "Beauclerc" King of England and his mother was Matilda Atheling Princess Scotland.  His paternal grandparents were William I The Conqueror' and Matilda of Flanders; his maternal grandparents were King Of Scotland Malcolm and Margaret Aetheling. He had two sisters named Elizabeth Princess Of and Mathilde Queen. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William, Henry, Rainald, Alice Aline* Princess of, Mabille Ou Richilde, daughter of King of, Maud Princess Of and Constance.  He died at the age of 57 on October 31st, 1147 in Bristol, Gloucester, England.  He was buried in St. James Priory, Bristol.1 1 


Robert's family with Maud FitzHammon

‌Robert and Maud were married in a religious ceremony about 1115 in Of, Gloucestershire, England.1   They had two sons and four daughters, named William, Philip Fitz Robert, Christian of, Mabel of, Maud Fitz Robert and Hawise De Beaumont Of.
