Isabella was born in 1822.1  Isabella's father was Andrew Findlay and her mother was Isobel Shaw.  Her paternal grandparents were William Finlay and Agnes Hanna; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Shaw and Jean Tennant. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, James, John, Thomas, Isobel, Agnes and Agnes.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 72 on May 7th, 1894 in Kilsyth.1
