Agnes was born on July 31st, 1825 in Kilsyth and her baptism took place there on August 14th, 1825.1  Agnes' father was Andrew Findlay and her mother was Isobel Shaw.  Her paternal grandparents were William Finlay and Agnes Hanna; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Shaw and Jean Tennant. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, James, John, Thomas, Isobel, Isabella and Agnes.  She was the youngest of the eight children.  She died due to a medical problem, Consumption, duration 2 years, at the age of 34 on November 30th, 1859 in Kilsyth.  She was buried in Kilsyth.2 2
