Margaret was born in August 1715 in Berryhill and her baptism took place on August 21st, 1715 in Kilsyth.^1 2

Margaret's father was William Semple and her mother was Janet Brown. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Robert, Jean, Mary and Agnes.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
