Joan was born on July 22nd, 1190 in Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire, England.  Joan's father was John I Plantagenet and her mother was Agatha De Ferrers.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry II Plantagenet and Eleanore D'Aquitaine; her maternal grandparents were Walkelin FitzRobert De Ferrers and Sybil De Braose. She had a sister named UNKNOWN. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Richard, Henry III, Richard Angevin, Joan, Isabel and Eleanor.  She died at the age of 46 in February 1237 in Aberconway, Carnarvonshire, Wales.  She was buried on February 2nd, 1237 in Llan-faes, Llanvaens, Anglesey, Wales.


Joan's family with Llywelyn Fawr ap Iowerth

‌Joan and Llywelyn Fawr ap were married in a religious ceremony about 1207 in Wales.  They had two sons and five daughters, named Dafydd ap, Tegwared ap, Gwenllian verch, Margaret Drwyndon verch Llewelyn, ? verch, Angharad verch and Helen Elen Llywelyn.
