Her paternal grandparents were John De Neville and Maud De Percy; her maternal grandparents were John of Gaunt and Catherine Roet. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named Richard, Henry, Thomas, Cuthbert, Robert, John, Edward, William, George, Catherine, Eleanor, Anne and Cecily. She is the oldest of the fourteen children.
