Eleanor of was born about 1244 in Burgos, Castile, Spain.  Eleanor of's father was Fernando III of Castile and her mother was Jeanne De Dammartin.  Her paternal grandparents were Alfonso IX of Castile and Leon and Berengaria Alfonsez Sanchez of Castile; her maternal grandparents were Simon II De Dammartin and Marie De Ponthieu. She had two brothers named Luis or Leon and and Juan Sednor.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers named Alfonso X of and Juan Manuel Fernandez of.  She died on November 29th, 1290 in Herdeby, Lincolnshire, England.

They had five sons and eight daughters, named John, Henry, Alphonso, Berengaria, Edward II, Eleanor, Joan, Isabel, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Beatrice and Blanche.
