Eleanor was born on October 13th, 1162 in Falaise, Calvados, France.  Eleanor's father was Henry II Plantagenet and her mother was Eleanore D'Aquitaine.  Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey V Plantagenet and Matilda Empress of Germany Queen of England; her maternal grandparents were William X D'Aquitaine and Eleanor De Chatellerault. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Henry, Richard I, Geoffrey, John I, Matilda and Joanna.  She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named William, Agnes, Marie and Alix.  She died at the age of 52 on October 31st, 1214 in Las Huelgas, Burgos, Spain.  She was buried in Monasterio De Las Huelgas, Burgos, Spain.

‌Eleanor and Alfonso VIII Sanchez of were married in a religious ceremony in September 1177.  They had two sons and six daughters, named Sancho of, Fernando of, Berengaria Alfonsez Sanchez of, Sancha of, Blanca of, Urraca of, Mafalda of and Leonor of.
