Her paternal grandparents were John De Neville and Maud De Percy; her maternal grandparents were John of Gaunt and Catherine Roet. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named Richard, Henry, Thomas, Cuthbert, Robert, John, Edward, William, George, Joan, Catherine, Anne and Cecily. She was the third oldest of the fourteen children. She had two half-brothers and six half-sisters, named John, Ralph, Alice, Phillipa, Elizabeth, Maud, Anne and Margaret.
