Euphemia was born about 1268 in Warkworth, Alnwick, Northumberland, England.  Euphemia's father was Robert FitzRoger Clavering and her mother is Margery La Zouche.  Her paternal grandfather is Roger FitzJohn De Clavering and her paternal grandmother was Isabel De Merlay; her maternal grandparents were Alan La Zouche and Elena De Qunicy. She had seven brothers named John FitzRobert II, Edmund, Alexander, Robert, Henry, Roger and Alan.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died in 1329 in Raby Castle, Durham, England.  She was buried in Staindrop, Durham, England.

They had six sons and seven daughters, named Robert, Alexander, John, Ralph, William, Thomas, Joan, Anastase, Ida, Eupheme, Alice, Mary and Margaret.
