William C. Shields 
William C. was born about 1850 in Indiana. William C.'s father was James Madison Shields and his mother was Martha J. Sciscoe. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Shields and Sarah "Sally" Masterson. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Louis W., George Washington, John Thomas, James K. Polk, Isaac, David Jefferson, Sarah Elizabeth, Nancy Jane, Mary Alice and Delitha Belle. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He had four half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Joseph Lenzy, Hiram Martin, Grover Cleveland, Paris Everett "Jack", Estella Martha, Mamie Alma, Infant, Izella Ethel, Maude Emiline, Rosezetta Frances and Nancy Pearl. He died on November 6th, 1902 in Monroe County, Indiana. He was buried in Ro1/1855.-
