George Washington Shields 
George Washington was born on January 5th, 1847 in Monroe County, Indiana. George Washington's father was James Madison Shields and his mother was Martha J. Sciscoe. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Shields and Sarah "Sally" Masterson. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Louis W., William C., John Thomas, James K. Polk, Isaac, David Jefferson, Sarah Elizabeth, Nancy Jane, Mary Alice and Delitha Belle. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He had four half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Joseph Lenzy, Hiram Martin, Grover Cleveland, Paris Everett "Jack", Estella Martha, Mamie Alma, Infant, Izella Ethel, Maude Emiline, Rosezetta Frances and Nancy Pearl. He died at the age of 94 on June 15th, 1941 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., Indiana. He was buried in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., Indiana.-
