William Oscar Shields 
William Oscar was born in October 1876 in Indiana. William Oscar's father was William C. Shields and his mother was Elizabeth A. Deckard. His paternal grandparents were James Madison Shields and Martha J. Sciscoe; his maternal grandparents were Adam Deckard and Elizabeth Sylvester. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Charles Edgar, Raymond, Keet, Fred, John W., Elza Flick, Lydia Florence, Flora and Nettie Roxie. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 78 on March 13th, 1955 in Monroe County, Indiana. He was buried in Clear Creek Cemetery, Clear Creek, Monroe Co., Indiana.-
