Winifred, known as Winnie, was born on July 14th, 1913 in the Wirral.¹

Birth Notes

Winnie's father was Joseph Shipley and her mother was Ada Brereton. Her paternal grandparents were William Shipley and Sarah Hunt; her maternal grandparents were John Brereton and Eliza (Lizzie) Batho. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Norman, Esther, Nancy and Ada. She was the third youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 76 on September 20th, 1989 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.²
