Richard was born in June 1901 in Birkenhead.¹

Birth Notes

Richard's father was Thomas Sherlock and his mother was Mary Ann Quigley. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Sherlock and Lydia Eddowes. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Gerard, Bernard, Cicely, Dorothy and Lydia. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 1 in 1902 in Birkenhead.²
