Lydia Eddowes

Lydia was born in June 1841 in Wrexham.¹

Lydia's father was John Eddowes and her mother was Mary Whitfield. Her paternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Elizabeth Jones; her maternal grandparents were John Whitfield and Mary Tomlinson. She had six brothers and four sisters, named George, Edwin, Thomas, John, William, Matthew, Elizabeth, Mary, Esther and Mary. She died at the age of 49 in September 1890 in Birkenhead.²

‌Lydia and Samuel were married in a religious ceremony on July 21st, 1859 at St. Nicholas (L'pool).⁴

They had four biological sons and four biological daughters, named Thomas, Samuel, Henry, Richard, Lydia, Mary, Alice and Adeline. They also had an adopted son named John. There are no more children. Alice and Adeline were twins.
