William Mather

William was born on May 18th, 1803 in Croft and his baptism took place on June 12th, 1803 at St. Oswald (Winwick).¹

William's father was William Mather and his mother was Martha Welch. His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Ann Monks. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named William, Thomas, James, John, Jane, Ellen, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret and Sarah. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 13 in October 1816 in Croft. He was buried on October 14th, 1816 at St. Oswald (Winwick).¹
