John Mather

John was born on January 29th, 1819 in Croft and his baptism took place on March 26th, 1819 at St. Oswald (Winwick).¹

John's father was William Mather and his mother was Martha Welch.  His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Ann Monks. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named William, William, Thomas, James, Jane, Ellen, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 56 in April 1875 in Warrington.  He was buried on April 13th, 1875 at St. Elphin (Warrington).²
