James Mather

James was born on April 27th, 1816 in Croft and his baptism took place on May 26th, 1816 at St. Oswald (Winwick).¹

James' father was William Mather and his mother was Martha Welch. His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Ann Monks. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named William, William, Thomas, John, Jane, Ellen, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret and Sarah. He was the second youngest of the twelve children. He died as an infant at 11 months old in March 1817 in Croft. He was buried on March 31st, 1817 at St. Oswald (Winwick).¹
