Jane Mather

Jane was born on March 8th, 1797 in Croft and her baptism took place on March 31st, 1797 at St. Oswald (Winwick).¹

Jane's father was William Mather and her mother was Martha Welch.  Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Ann Monks. She had five brothers and six sisters, named William, William, Thomas, James, John, Ellen, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the twelve children.
