Robert Mather

Robert was born in October 1790 in Bedford (Leigh) and his baptism took place on October 16th, 1790 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).¹²

Robert's father was Henry Mather and his mother was Dorothy Magson. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named John, Robert, Joseph, Henry, Henry, Elizabeth, Alice, Mary, Ellen, Ann, Nancy and Jenny. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 76 on November 10th, 1866 in Farnworth.³
