Henry Mather

Henry was born in December 1796 in Bedford (Leigh) and his baptism took place on December 24th, 1796 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).¹

Henry's father was Henry Mather and his mother was Dorothy Magson. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named John, Robert, Robert, Joseph, Henry, Elizabeth, Alice, Mary, Ellen, Ann, Nancy and Jenny. He was the nineth oldest of the thirteen children.
