Mary was born on May 6th, 1799 in Prescot and her baptism took place there on June 16th, 1799.1  Mary's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Garswood.  Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Mather and Ann Thompson. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Ralph, Thomas, William, William, William, Margaret, John, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Ellen.  Mary and Ellen were twins.  She died at 3 months old in August 1799 in Prescot.  She was buried on August 22nd, 1799 in Prescot.1
